Engineered Fuel (EF) is a mixture of light paper and film plastic specifically targeted and mechanically extracted from solid waste. It can be sold as a fuel to existing coal fired boilers and used in lieu of or in combination with coal. Rather than scrub the stack to become emission compliant, Envision Waste Services processes waste to remove items such as batteries; a known source of heavy metals such as lead, mercury, cadmium, and others, chlorinated plastics such as PVC; a known source of dioxins, inorganic items such as glass, and organic waste; a parasitic material due to its high moisture content.
Envision then removes light material consisting principally of light paper and film plastic to be used as Engineered Fuel (EF). EF can be used as a coal substitute in existing coal fired boilers and burns cleaner than coal. Engineered Fuel is a renewable biomass fuel derived from the solid waste. Through the use of our highly unique equipment we have provided fuel to Akron Thermal, First Energy, Dayton Power and Light and Vexor Technologies. Widely excepted by its end users, our fuel combustion qualities are well proven by long term testing and full scale test burn results.
